FINAL PACKAGING OF DOCUMENTATION AND SOFTWARE Disk #1: The complete package for your software should be put onto a 3.5in diskette, including your user manual. Regarding code: remember that documentation will be graded. (Indicate on the label whether it is a UNIX or a DOS disk and the name of the utility used to create it.) Disk #2: The source files for all of your deliverables should be compressed and tarred and put onto a separate disk. Be sure that all linked files are included in the appropriate directory structure. Deliverables include the text for your project description, plan, requirements, design (system and object), testing specifications, user manual, and final report. Also, include the homepage text (all html files) for the group. As appropriate, there should be pointers to the respective directories containing the deliverables. This disk should be created on a UNIX system. ============================================ For both disks, there should be very detailed instructions how to untar and uncompress your files from disk. - For the documentation disk, give an index in the README as to what files are included on the disk and a brief description of what each file contains. - For the software disk, very detailed instructions should be given as to how someone would install your software from scratch. All libraries used must be explicitly named. The specific system files that are used by the software should be explicitly enumerated (all environment variable paths). In general, someone should be able to duplicate the environment to run your tool based on your instructions (including OS, windowing system, type of workstation, etc.). *****************************IMPORTANT************************************* Be sure that both disks can be successfully downloaded from floppy to the respective systems (this will be explicitly evaluated).
