Dr. Leow Wee Kheng obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from National University of Singapore in 1985 and 1989 respectively. He pursued Ph.D. study at The University of Texas at Austin and obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1994. While studying Ph.D., he also worked as a Research Assistant in Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation at Austin, Texas. His research group later spun off into a software company called Pavilion Technologies Ltd, which provides neural network-based software solutions to large factories and facilities for process control, monitoring, and analysis. He joined the company as a Software Engineer and served as the principal designer and developer of the first and second versions of the company's software products.
 
After obtaining his Ph.D. degree, he returned to National University of Singapore to begin his teaching and research career. He is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing. He has served in various administrative positions including member of the Department Executive Committee, Curriculum Committee, Graduate Studies Committee, etc. He served as the Curriculum Chair of the Department of Computer Science from 2005 to 2014.

His curent research interests include surgery planning and simulation, medical image analysis, computer vision and image processing. He has published more than 130 technical papers in journals, conferences, and books. He has been awarded three U.S. patents and a Singapore patent. He has served in the Program Committees and Organizing Committees of various conferences.

He collaborates widely with a large number of local and overseas institutions. His current active collaborators include Singapore General Hospital, National University Hospital, and Multimedia University, Malaysia. He has also played key roles in the establishment of MOUs and Research Agreements with CNRS and National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan.
