On 1 Aug 2018, National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Computing concluded its very first Summer Workshop. Through this summer program, School of Computing hosted 378 students from various universities in Asia including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Sichuan University, Wuhan University, Zhejiang University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Xi'an Jiaotong University and Dongguk University.
The workshop was held from 11 July 2018 to 1 August 2018 and was conducted entirely by the NUS School of Computing. Targeted at Year 2 and above undergraduate and postgraduate students, the program sought to give participants an insights into various hot topics in Computing covering 3 main topics: Artificial Intelligence and Multimedia Computing, Big Data and Cloud Computing and finally, Internet of Things and Security.
The workshop participants were required to get some hands-on experience and apply their new-found knowledge in their projects. On the final day, participants showcased the fruits of their labour and presented their works to fellow students and lecturers.

In light of this year's successful run and positive feedback received, NUS School of Computing would be continuing the program in the following year. The School of Computing is currently in the process of preparing for NUS School of Computing Summer Workshop 2019.
