Professional artist and educator Kelly Reedy has worked in Singapore
for over 16 years. In addition to exhibiting her paintings, she has worked with students
of all ages, from teaching
fine art to young children at the German European School,
to training teachers at the National Institute of Education. She has worked extensively
with the museums in Singapore, developing educational resource materials
for the new National Art Gallery Singapore, giving lectures and specialized
printmaking workshops at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute and conducting Asian folk
art workshops for the Asian Civilisations Museum. Other projects include developing
teacher training seminars and writing on art and education for
the “Kids’ Art News”
section of the Singapore Art Gallery Guide.
In 2006 she opened Studio Arts in Wessex Estate, a private gallery and
workshop venue, with the aim of bringing a greater understanding and
enjoyment of visual art to a wider audience. For those interested in making
art, Kelly regularly conducts workshops for children and adults, including
Renaissance drawing techniques, acrylic painting with mixed media and
specialty courses inspired by Asian folk art traditions. Small class sizes
and personalized instruction make for a unique learning experience!
