In Search of Cactus: Part 5

"WELL, not to fret, let me see what we can do about all these coloured mushrooms. Let's see..we have dark red, dark green, orange, dark blue, pink..hey! I think maybe all isn't lost yet..hmmm...."

Gummi B proceeds to mix all the dark-coloured mushrooms together in her big cauldron.

After hours of brewing, lo and behold! Our warriors now have enough mushroom soup to fight Ro, the evil sorcerer.

Gummi B explained that they needed the mushroom soup to get past Ro's Bee Bee. Darkfire is guarded by Ro's twins, who is a two-headed monster and who is forever hungry. Part of the reason why past attempts to fight Ro is because they never got past Ro's twins. They arrived at Darkfire empty-handed and believed that courage was all that they were going to need to face the powerful magician. Little did they know that they ended up as food to the two-headed monster.

BearBear shivered at the thought of facing a two-headed monster.

"But why do we need the mushrooms to be black?" Bunny asked, munching on his carrot.

It turned out that the monster is extremely sensitive to bright colours. Any bright colours immediately set off his temper. So, in order to pacify Bee Bee, they need real dark colours. Black is the darkest colour of all, as simple as that.

Dogbert sniffed. Dilbert guessed his intention before he could pounce on the cauldron.

"Oh no, you don't." For the first time, he is going to control the hound, instead of the other way around. He pulled back the reins before Dogbert could ruin the precious mushroom soup. Dilbert wondered if the royal hound had any sense sometimes.

Our warriors decided that they had wasted enough time. It is time to confront Ro and complete their mission so that they can return to the castle.
