I WAS at a traffic junction with Sogo on my left, Capitol in front and my date on my right. My date, Lyn, was the prettiest creature I had ever seen. At that moment while waiting for the light to turn green, in standing next to her. I could feel a lot of envious stares coming from the passers-by. Was is my imagination or what that I saw through the corner of my eyes people sticking out their heads from each corner of the walls lusting for my possession? I had to do something. Something drastic.

I know what! I'll hold her hand while we crossed the road. This was one of the oldest trick in the book, the 'cross-road-hold-hand-tactic'. Though I have never tried this before, I guessed Lyn would not mind. This should be able to drive those coloured-wolves up the wall and banged their heads onto the floor. Hee! I liked that nasty idea! So with my mind set, I prepared myself for the mission.

The light turned green. *Whoosph* With one swift action, I caught her hand off-guard. I could feel so as the soft small hand tried to pull away though I resisted. Though I did not look back at her, I was sure she must be blushing now submitting herself to the fate. The on-coming passers-by looked surprised, some even smiled, I guessed in an envious way, I grinned broadly in my most memorable moment of triumph. I could feel the warmth of her hand. We were one at that moment. The whole world did not matter anymore. I was on cloud nine. I was lost in a world of dreams, a world of joy. I was shutting myself off from everyone. I was the champion. I was seeing Lyn in front of me talking to her friend, I ... What?! Then who was I holding on?

When I reached the other side, I quickly turned over and found a small girl looking shockingly at me as if I was going to do some nasty things to her, things which only a dirty old man would do. Her parents who lost sight of her earlier on, were still on the other side of the road waving their hands and shouting abuses in the air. Lyn and her friends noticed this and were laughing at a safe distance away. I froze in mid-air and felt like losing part of my stomach someplace around my knees. I could have sworn that if there was a hole in the ground, I would have immediately stuck my head into it...
