I work on human-centric vision and video understanding, with a focus on building contextual AI systems to perceive, reason about, and assist with human activities in real-world and embodied settings. I previously led a group in Visual Computing at the University of Bonn and co-founded a startup on smart parking. I completed my PhD at ETH Zurich and studied Engineering Science at the University of Toronto.
Outside of work, I am rediscovering the joys of piano with Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, and sampling my way through Singapore's excellent hawker scene.
Prospective PhD students should apply through the NUS SoC PhD programme. For postdoc and visitors, see details here.
