Call for Panel Proposals

VLDB 2010 will take place September 13-17 in Singapore. As a very important part of the technical program, VLDB 2010 invites panel proposals. Panels should address timely and, preferably, controversial issues and must be debate-oriented rather than a series of short presentations.

A proposal should include the topic title; a short statement about the importance and relevance of the panel and the potential issues of controversy; a tentative list of questions that will be posed to the panelists; a list of confirmed participants along with their affiliations (need not be complete); and a short bio of each participant.

Proposals must be submitted electronically by April 2, 2010 to the Panel Co-Chairs (Marianne Winslett (winslett@illinois.edu) and Jeffrey Yu (yu@se.cuhk.edu.hk)). Feel free to contact the chairs to discuss a potential proposed topic.

Acceptance decisions for VLDB'10 panel proposals will be made by June 19, 2010.
