Hello moodies, once again it is that time of the year.... It has been a year...and what a year it has been. This story is supposed to be a continuation from the one posted last year, titled "In Search of Cactus(1-11)" Many of the main cast of the story no longer exist because they are no longer citizens here (sad to say). For the benefit of anyone following this story, the previous one has been posted again. Check out previous threads. To the new casts, welcome into the family of IRM. :) To the rest of the old casts of the story, welcome back. Be prepared as I start spinning another tale of my imagination and victimize all of you. Allow me as I borrow your handles for awhile and rest assure I will state my disclaimer clearly before I soil your reputations. :P Disclaimer: Every bit of this story is fictional (except the characters) Any resembrance to any character or real life occurances are purely coincidental. All the characters in the story are not responsible for the storyline. PREVIOUSLY as we know, Two-Face dived into the longkang after his precious cactus (and coin). Ro, after his final stunt, fell off Bee Bee, who collapsed from exhaustion, and landed next to Phoenix Hawk. The onlookers were horrified. "Your Majesty!" Fingers exclaimed. However, no matter how loud their shouts were, they were all in vain. Two-Face seemed to have disappeared under the waters. Everybody waited for awhile. Finally BearBear decided to save the king. She jumped into the longkang after him. Very soon, all the rest followed. Alas! Our loyal warriors were non-swimmers and were swept away by the strong currents. Fingers stood frozen.

It is unimportant whether our warriors are good swimmers or otherwise.
They are henceforth withdrawn from the story.

When the rest of the warriors returned to Arkham, they were greeted by an empty castle. Well, almost. "Hey, where's everybody?.... Hello.... ??" HOnL appeared at the gate of the palace dressed in suspenders over his pants, with a red cap on his head.

HOnL's dressing is the exact replica of SuperMario, who is identified by
players in his white T-shirt and red suspenders, coupled with a red cap
that says "Mario" in the front.
Luigi, his brother, dresses in a similar fashion except that
his identifying colour is green.
But Luigi is irrelevant to the story.

"HOnL, why are you dressed like this? What happened? Where is His Majesty? Has he recovered after taking the cactus?" piLLow asked. "I advised His Majesty to wait for my invention and he refused to listen. Instead he chose to pursue that...that cactus. And now he's disappeared!" piLLow demanded a more coherent explanation, but HOnL seemed to be racing around for no apparent reason. At this point, piLLow spotted Phoenix Hawk staggering towards them. He decided to ask the Tweet instead of wasting his breath on HOnL. On closer examination at the Hawk, he realized that Phoenix Hawk was burnt. Suddenly, he had a feeling that he wasn't going to like what he is going to find out. "Hawk why are you burnt? What happened?" "I had been struck by Ro, that's what! Speaking of whom, he's still lying beside that two-headed monster of his a few miles from here. What happened? How would I know?!" piLLow decided that his breath had been wasted again. Normal.

As if sensing piLLow's exasperation, HOnL stopped pacing and spoke again. "It's time to leave." "Leave? Where to? What for?" piLLow was totally confused. "To save His Majesty." piLLow shook his head in despair. He decided to suggest to Two-Face (as soon as he finds him) that HOnL be given a dosage of the cactus as well. It is apparent that Two-Face wasn't the only one sick around here. "What's going on? Did His Majesty get the cactus?" Phoenix Hawk asked. HOnL, seeing that nobody seemed willing to help him in his mission to save the king, finally explained what happened since they left for their journey. "You mean the rest drowned??!!?!" "It's Ro's magic, I tell ya. He took away their senses, the whole lot of them. And for what? Just a cactus?" HOnL scoffed. Both the bird and the pillow ignored him. Their utmost concern now is to try to find out what happened to their king. The castle is now deserted, save the three of them. Bugs Bunny and Brer rabbit disappeared along the way back to Arkham. Excalibur, Dogbert and Dilbert were gone. The rest had drowned. Even Fingers, their adviser, had been frozen. And now, their physician is behaving weirdly. "We have to find His Majesty." Phoenix Hawk declared. "That much we know, thank you very much. I am going to save the king, are the both of you coming or not?" Phoenix Hawk and piLLow stared at the physician, stupefied. They looked at each other and shook their heads simultaneously, for the same thoughts wandered their minds. How could a palace doctor possibly face such a herculean task? "I know what you are thinking. Do not look down on me, for I am SuperMario!" Our 2 warriors blinked. HOnL (now turned SuperMario) tried to be patient with our warriors and explained. "I may be small, but once I consume a mushroom, I will grow! And I will become SuperMario. I can fight as well, if not better than any of you."

In case some of you have no idea why SuperMario has to consume
a mushroom to grow, please refer to "Mario Bros" or "SuperMario"
in the Nintendo games series.
After consuming a mushroom (which is hidden in certain brick walls
that Mario knocks above his head), Mario will grow to double the size
of his teeny weeny normal self.
Here's a simple algo for the rules of the game:

Phoenix Hawk and piLLow gaped at SuperMario and then at each other, trying to decide if the doctor had gone mad, or vice versa. SuperMario soon grew impatient with the both of them. It is obvious that no matter how much he explains, neither will understand. "We are wasting precious time. Are you coming or not?" SuperMario started racing around again. "Alright alright. You are right, the longer we stand here the less chance of finding our king. Before we go, just promise us one thing, HOnL." Phoenix Hawk warned. "SuperMario." SuperMario corrected, his voice strained and his patience stretched to the maximum. "Whatever. Keep yourself off trouble okay? No way are you going to get yourself in hot soup and expect us to rescue you as well." SuperMario rolled his eyes and nodded, just to appease Phoenix Hawk, or they will never get going. |
