FOONG Sew Bun is an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore. He brings crucial industry experience of applied innovations and expertise to serve in the University with more than 25 years of IT experiences. Recognized for his sustained track record of innovations and technical leadership. FOONG Sew Bun was the first IBM Distinguished Engineer in Singapore and Asia Pacific, and has assumed different roles during his career with IBM: Chief Technology Officer for ASEAN and Singapore, Global Lead Cloud Advisor, Regional Technical Executive and Executive Architect for IBM South Asia and India. He has been leading top enterprises on innovations and transformation journey, expecially in innovative applications with disrutpive technologies like cloud computing, cognitive computing, Big Data with analytics, security, API economy and agile practices. Sew Bun has also served on several academia and industry advisory roles, including Chairman and Senior Advisor of the National Infocomm Competency Steering Committee, Keppel Technology Advisory Panel, Deputy Chairman and member of Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants IT Adivisory COmmittee and CFO Committee respectively, Singapore Polytechnic Department of Electrical and Electronics Communications Advisory Committee, Services and Digital Economy Executive Committee under the Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2020. With deepest honor, Sew Bun was named "IT Professional of the Year" by the Singapore Computer Society in 2016 and was also one of the 50 Singaporeans featured in the "SG50 - A Nation of Skilled Talents".
