It may be a relatively young School – shy of 30 years old – but the School has since achieved a strong reputation for quality and excellence. A significant number of ICT leaders and captains across industry sectors in Singapore are our alumni.

There are many ways to contribute:
- Make an Expendable gift, where the gift sum is spent on the gift purpose
- Make an Endowed gift, where the principal donation is preserved and invested to earn returns to support the gift purpose.
You may choose to contribute to an existing Fund, contribute anonymously, or explore naming opportunities to honour an individual or an organisation. (Naming opportunities are subject to approval.)
If you are a Singapore tax resident or Singapore, your gift to SoC may be eligible for a 2.5 times tax deduction. Gifts may also be eligible for matching grants from the Singapore government.

Nurturing Computing Talent
Scholarships (Merit-based)
Scholarships will help NUS Computing to attract the best and brightest students from Singapore and the region.
Scholarships are awarded to promising students in recognition of their academic excellence, leadership qualities and special talents and service. During their time at NUS, scholars are expected to contribute to building up the NUS community, developing themselves to reach their fullest potential and to excel through enriching learning opportunities and student life activities. Scholars from SoC are well-positioned to become future ICT leaders in Singapore and beyond.
Scholarships encourage and inspire talented students to reach further.
Read how the LBKM Future Economy Scholarship has transformed the university experience of Muhammad Nur Adzfar, a Year 1 Computer Science student at NUS Computing. The scholarship has enabled him to experience residential living and learning on campus and to engage in a rich range of academic and non-academic learning opportunities, without having to be impeded by financial considerations. With support for school and living expenses, he is part of the NUS Silat team and volunteers with Mendaki, while also building the skills and confidence to pursue a career in software engineering.
You can choose to support either a full-term scholarship or an annual renewable scholarship. Your gift can take the form of endowed scholarship or expendable scholarship.
If you plan to make an expendable gift of S$50,000 or higher, or an endowment gift of S$150,000 or more, we may be able to offer a naming opportunity in recognition. Please contact us about the naming opportunity.
Medals and Prizes
Medals and prizes recognize the academic achievements of top students in a course or programme. They inspire and motivate our students to aim higher and to reach for excellence.
SoC offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programmes and our course offerings span the range of Computing and Information Systems study from fundamental theory to novel computational solutions and applications, large-scale systems and other emerging areas. There are opportunities to choose from programmes or courses in fields that resonate with you or your organisation, for example, in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Computer Graphics and Games, Decision Science, Information Systems and more.
If you would like to partner us to support talent development through named prizes or medals, please contact us for a discussion. Naming opportunities may be offered for expendable gifts of $20,000 or more, or endowed gifts of $75,000 or higher.
Bursaries and Financial Aid
The need is real. One in five NUS Computing undergraduates qualify for means-tested financial aid. Nearly 30% of our financial aid applicants come from households with a monthly per-capita income of $750 or less.
Bursaries are awarded to students, who after receiving both government and NUS study loans, still require financial assistance. In absolute numbers, every year, more than 1,000 SoC students need bursary assistance.
We invite you to join us to support and uplift the next generation of SoC students who come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Students are admitted to SoC based on merit, and we want to help every admitted student to be able to complete his or her university education without the burden of financial difficulties.
Bursaries enable students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in the rich and varied learning experiences that an NUS education offers – from student exchange programmes, entrepreneurship endeavours to residential living and learning programmes. With your support, more of our talented and deserving students can realise their full potential at NUS.
By donating bursaries, you are giving a helping hand to the next generation of aspiring technology leaders so that no talent is left behind. Your gift will have a direct impact by defraying tuition and compulsory fees, with remaining support allocated to essential living expenses that provides immediate relief, opportunity and empowerment. Students can fully focus on their academic and educational pursuits, without having to contend with financial instability. This is a precious gift to students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Your gift can take the form of an endowed bursary or expendable bursary. In recognition, we may offer a naming opportunity for a minimum expendable gift of S$45,000, or a minimum endowed gift of S$150,000. SoC Pay-It-Forward Bursary Fund
The SoC Pay-It-Forward Bursary was established by a group of alumni and long-serving faculty members of the School of Computing (SoC). The bursary is awarded to full-time needy undergraduates from the School of Computing from Academic Year 2013/14. Since its inception, the Bursary has helped more than 200 needy students. Today, it continues to help around 30 students every year.

Supporting Student Development
Help the next generation to go further!
The SoC learning experience extends beyond the conventional classroom setting. We are passionate about providing our students with opportunities to learn and to develop themselves fully through all-rounded experiences that cultivate resilience, leadership, community-building skills, and overall wellbeing alongside technical excellence.
Contact us if you are keen to support hackathons, industry challenge and other competitions, certifications, overseas study trips or international competitions, well-being initiatives, mentorship programmes or other high-impact, transformative out of classroom engagements.
Computer Innovators Programme
SoC has launched a new Computing Innovators Programme (C-Innovators) in 2026. This is a special pathway for talented undergraduates to develop creativity and innovation. This select group of students will work on open-ended challenges and lead projects that combine technology with human and societal needs. Student interest in the C-Innovators programme has been strong.
Do get in touch with us if you are keen to support this programme financially, or if you are keen to partner SoC to set up a (named) centre to drive student innovation, from seeding ideas to supporting journeys from exploration to experimentation and execution.

Computing Alumni Assistance Award
Join the efforts of the Computing alumni by making a gift to this award, initiated by the Computing Alumni Association (CAA), to support supplementary educational expenses or computing project initiatives for SoC students with limited financial resources.

Read the account of Ms Nguyen Thi Phuong Linh, an SoC alumnus and CAAA recipient who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics. During her undergraduate years, she went on a Student Exchange Programme (SEP) at the Australian National University, where she developed critical skills, gained academic enrichment, and developed fond memories.
Computing Student Development Fund
Make a gift to enable more Computing undergraduate and graduate students to obtain professional qualifications and gain international exposure through overseas study trips, participation in academic conferences, competitions and professional certification courses.

This support has made a meaningful difference to students by easing the financial impediments of pursuing valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom. The Fund provides one-off financial assistance of up to $1,500 per student per academic year.
Ms Dorothy Yuan, a Bachelor of Computing (Information Systems) student who graduated in AY 2025/26 was a beneficiary of the Fund. Read about how the fund gave Ms Dorothy Yuan the opportunity to present her research project at the world-leading Max Planck Institute for Human Development. Through this experience, she gained valuable exposure, confidence, and professional growth.

Naming
