Research Fellow

Research Fellow

The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the position of  Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing (SoC). SoC is strongly committed to research excellence in all its dimensions: Searching for fundamental results and insights, developing novel computational solutions to a wide range of applications, building large-scale experimental systems and improving the well-being of society. We seek to play an active role both internationally and locally in the core and emerging areas of Computer Science and Information Systems.

The Research Fellow will be part of the NUS-Singtel Cyber Security Research Laboratory, working on a project related to providing privacy as a service. The project will involve designing and analyzing algorithms for privatizing data, as well as evaluating the privacy leakage from published datasets. An ideal candidate will have experience with anonymization algorithms, including standard concepts of privacy, such as k-anonymity and differential privacy.

Job Requirements
  • a PhD degree, preferably on a topic related to privacy and algorithm design;
  • good publication record at top tier conferences; and
  • experience in privacy research.

We will also also consider candidates with strong mathematical or theoretical computer science backgrounds and an interest in privacy (but without specific experience in privacy).

(Note: to be considered for this job, the PhD thesis must already have been submitted to the department, even if the degree has not yet been conferred.)
