The National University of Singapore (NUS) seeks Research Fellows and Research Assistants in cyber security.

The researchers will be working as part of the new NUS-SIngtel Cyber Security Research Laboratory that was established at the end of June 2016 with funding from the Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF), NUS and SIngtel.

Project Overview

Singtel and the National University of Singapore (NUS) are partnering in a corporate research lab hosted at NUS and focusing broadly on cyber security.

Singtel is the leading provider of infocomm products and services in Singapore and the Southeast Asia region, and cyber security problems pervade every aspect of its business, including its acquisition and use of customer and partner data, the design of its hardware and software platforms, and its development of innovative consumer and business products and services. Singtel’s recent acquisition of Trustwave makes it one of the major providers of cyber security solutions in the world.

The National University of Singapore is a leading global university generally recognized as the top university in Asia. It has existing peaks of strength in several areas relevant to cyber security within its School of Computing (SoC), Faculty of Engineering (FOE) and Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) and it has identified cyber security as a strategic growth area for research impact, technology translation, and interaction with industry.

The lab is bringing together these two leading organizations in Singapore with complimentary capabilities in cyber security to address a broad array of the most critifical challenges in cyber security for SIngaore industry and society. The lab will be directed by Prof David S. Rosenblum from NUS along with Mr Ho Pun from Singtel. The research activities of the lab will be supervised by two dozen PIs from SoC, FOE and CQT, in collaboration with engineers and researchers from SIngtel. The result will be the creation and commercialization of a significant and diverse body of new technologies in cyber security, along with the training of significant numbers of new PhDs, researchers and engineers in cyber secuirty.
