Henry CHIA

Senior Lecturer (Educator Track)

  • Ph.D. (National University of Singapore)

Henry is an impassioned educator entrusted with a moral mission to transform victims of rote-learning into fervent and skilled practitioners. His area of expertise is in teaching programming methodology to a wide spectrum of students ranging from enthusiasts to complete novices, particularly involving large-classes with over hundreds of students. Henry is constantly devising novel approaches in pedagogy, as well as assessment, to support peer and collaborative learning with the fundamental aim of adding value to his students' learning journey. Indeed, Henry believes that every student must be delicately primed as the beneficiary; they must sense that a teacher teaches, not because he can, but because he cares.
