BIAN Yatao
Assistant Professor- PhD in Computer Science, ETH Zurich
Yatao Bian is a tenure-track Assistant Professor (incoming) at the Department of Computer Science, National University of Singapore. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute for Machine Learning at ETH Zurich. He was an Associate Fellow of the Max Planck ETH Center for Learning Systems from June 2015 to January 2020. He is currently looking for highly motivated postdocs, PhD students, visiting students, interns, and research assistants. He is dedicated to expanding the frontiers of AI capabilities in scientific intelligence, driving transformative technological advancements to address critical challenges in scientific research. Some of his research topics include reasoning-empowered foundation models, LLM/Agents for science, interpretable substructure-based robust graph learning, and energy-based learning. He has won the National Championship in the AMD China Accelerated Computing Contest. He has published several papers in top machine learning conferences and journals such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, T-PAMI, and AISTATS. He serves as an area chair for NeurIPS and ICLR, and has been a reviewer or program committee member for conferences including ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, AAAI, and STOC, as well as journals such as JMLR, T-PAMI, and Nature Machine Intelligence.
