BIAN Yatao
Assistant Professor- PhD in Computer Science, ETH Zurich
Yatao Bian is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science in National University of Singapore (NUS), School of Computing. He received his Ph.D. from the Institute for Machine Learning at ETH Zurich and was an Associate Fellow of the Max Planck ETH Center for Learning Systems (2015–2020). He is dedicated to expanding the frontiers of AI capabilities in scientific intelligence, driving transformative technological advancements to address critical challenges in science. Some of his research topics include reasoning-empowered foundation models, energy-based learning, LLM/Agent for science and graph machine learning. Dr. Bian won the National Championship in the AMD China Accelerated Computing Contest and has published in leading venues including NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, and TPAMI. He serves as an Area Chair for NeurIPS and ICLR, and has reviewed for ICML, CVPR, AAAI, and STOC, as well as JMLR, TPAMI, and Nature Machine Intelligence.
