Programme Overview

The Professional Certificate in Python Programming and JavaScript empowers learners with a robust skill set essential for modern software development. Through comprehensive courses, learners establish a solid groundwork in Python programming, mastering fundamental concepts and data structures. They gain proficiency in leveraging Python for software application development, while concurrently delving into the basics of JavaScript. With hands-on experience in development environments like NodeJS and VScode, as well as debugging tools, learners grasp essential programming constructs and data manipulation techniques. Moreover, the curriculum encompasses foundational Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, emphasizing classes, objects, and methods, along with an exploration of JavaScript’s Document Object Model (DOM) for effective web manipulation. The course also delves into advanced concepts such as Functional and Asynchronous programming, ensuring learners possess a holistic understanding of contemporary programming paradigms essential for success in the dynamic tech industry.

Programme Objectives

This PC will equip learners with the following competencies:

  • Build a strong foundation in the fundamentals in Python programming
  • Learn and apply data structures, programming constructs in Python to create simple software applications – Understand the Basics of Javascript
  • Understanding the development environment (NodeJS, VScode) and debugging tools, Blocks & Data structures – Basics of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts (Classes and Objects), JS objects and methods, Functions, Document Object Model (DOM) and manipulating DOM
  • Functional and Asynchronous programming concepts

    1. Total Nett Programme Fee Payable, including GST, after additional funding from various funding schemes.
    2. Participants must fulfill at least 70% attendance and pass all assessment components for all short courses within a professional certificate in order to be eligible for SSG funding.
    3. The applicable funding is for Singaporeans and Singapore PRs. This is subject to change and in accordance with SSG funding guidelines as of course commencement.
