This course is offered biannually, available once every six months.

Programme Overview

The Professional Certificate in Health Information Management is a comprehensive programme designed to equip learners with essential competencies crucial for navigating the complex landscape of data security and digital project management in healthcare. Through structured courses, learners will gain a deep understanding of concepts such as privacy, confidentiality, and information security, along with their interconnections. They will explore the implications of information system security on privacy and confidentiality, identify cybersecurity threats, and learn various measures to safeguard information. Moreover, the curriculum delves into the impact of Internet technology on healthcare data security, while also providing practical skills in digital project management, including requirements management, change request management, project governance, and risk management. By the programme’s conclusion, learners will be adept at creating robust Project Management Plans that prioritize risk mitigation and ensure the integrity of healthcare information systems.

Programme Objectives

This Professional Certificate will equip learners with the following competencies:

Understand the differences between privacy, confidentiality, information privacy, and information security and the relationships among them.
Discuss how information system security (or cybersecurity) affects privacy, confidentiality, and security.
Recognize potential threats to cybersecurity.
Identify several security measures designed to protect information and discuss how they function.
Discuss the impact that Internet technology has on the security of health-related information.
Apply the various models and tools learnt in Digital Project Management
Understand Requirements Management in relations to planning and executing digital projects
Apply Change Request Management in healthcare services
Understand the importance of project governance in digital project execution models
Create a Project Management Plan, considering the risk management aspects

Total Nett Programme Fee Payable, including GST, after additional funding from various funding schemes.
Participants must fulfill at least 70% attendance and pass all assessment components for all short courses within a professional certificate in order to be eligible for SSG funding.
The applicable funding is for Singaporeans and Singapore PRs. This is subject to change and in accordance with SSG funding guidelines as of course commencement.

As AI and emerging technologies continue to reshape industries and transform workforce skill requirements, we are refreshing our programme portfolio to ensure our offerings remain relevant, responsive, and aligned with evolving industry needs.

As outlined on our website since December 2025, the Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) and Professional Certificate (PC) programmes will be phased out by June 2026.
