This course is part of the (SCTP) NUS AI Engineering Programme. Applicants are required to register for all SCTP courses.

Course Overview

This course provides an in-depth exploration of key deep learning architectures: Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and Transformers. Participants will learn how these powerful models drive innovations in areas like computer vision and natural language processing. Through lectures, and hands-on labs, learners will acquire the skills needed to develop and train the deep learning models, apply deep learning to solve complex problems and drive technological advancements in their fields.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Grasp the core principles of deep learning and its distinctions from traditional machine learning.
Understand Convolutional Neural Networks for image processing tasks.
Learn about Recurrent Neural Networks and Transformer for natural language processing tasks.
Implement and train CNNs, RNNs, and Transformers using popular frameworks.
Apply deep learning techniques to solve real-world problems.
