Course Overview

This two-day course provides a structured and practical introduction to the use of Generative AI in exploratory data analytics. It is designed to equip working professionals with practical skills to leverage AI tools for accelerating data exploration and generating actionable insights to support business decision-making.

The course focuses on the application of Generative AI across the exploratory data analytics workflow, including data preparation, exploratory data analysis (EDA), natural language querying (Text-to-SQL), visualisation, and insight storytelling. Participants will gain hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools in realistic data environments, with emphasis on practical application, risk mitigation and error auditing in enterprise analytics contexts.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to independently design, execute and audit AI-augmented exploratory analytics workflows and communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Apply Generative AI tools to support end-to-end exploratory data analytics workflows.
Perform AI-assisted data preparation, transformation and exploratory data analysis.
Construct Text-to-SQL queries for natural language-based data interrogation.
Use Generative AI to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in structured datasets.
Generate structured, narrative-driven insights from analytical outputs for business communication.
Evaluate and mitigate the inherent risks, limitations, and failure modes of Generative AI in data workflows and data privacy

Prerequisites

A diploma or above
Familiarity with running Python environments (e.g. Anaconda, Jupyter)
