Anti-Scam Workshop Series Empowers Seniors Against Digital Threats

A series of Anti-Scam Workshops was launched to help seniors combat increasingly sophisticated digital scams. These workshops focus on educating participants about the risks posed by generative AI, including deepfakes, fake voices, and deceptive messages, and provide practical tips to recognise and avoid online scams.

With scams becoming more sophisticated due to the rise of generative AI tools that create deepfakes, fake voices, and convincing messages, these workshops aim to equip seniors with practical knowledge and digital skills to identify and avoid online threats.

The first workshop kicked off at West Coast Community Centre, led by our faculty members, Senior Lecturer Prabhu Natarajan, Associate Professor Khoo Siau Cheng, Associate Professor Terence Sim and Associate Professor Liang Zhenkai. More sessions will be held across Singapore to raise digital awareness and promote cyber safety among vulnerable communities
