NUS Computing has taken 1st place at the Earth Rover Challenge 2025

We are proud to announce that a student-led team from NUS Computing has taken 1st place at the Earth Rover Challenge 2025, a prestigious global competition that challenges participants to design and deploy autonomous robotic systems in complex, real-world environments.

The team, Chen Jizhuo, Liu Diwen, Tran Minh Man, Da Jiaxuan, and Quan Nuowen, led by PhD student Wang Jiaming and supervised by Associate Professor Harold Soh, developed GeNIE, a robust navigation system combining SAM2-based traversability prediction with a novel path fusion strategy.

This outstanding achievement highlights NUS Computing’s strength in AI and robotics research and reflects our students’ ability to innovate and excel on the global stage.
