29 December 2020 – Assistant Professor Reza Shokri has been selected by the newly launched Private AI Collaborative Research Institute to conduct research in heterogeneous decentralised learning.
The research institute was launched to advance and develop technologies in privacy and trust for decentralised artificial intelligence (AI).
Initially established by Intel’s University Research & Collaboration Office, the company then invited Avast, a global leader in digital security and privacy products, and Borsetta, an AI software-defined secure computer hardware company, to collaborate on the institute.
After issuing a call for research proposals earlier this year, the companies selected nine research projects to be supported by the institute at eight universities worldwide.
A/P Shokri’s work will focus on designing theoretical frameworks and algorithms for certifiably robust and differentially private knowledge transfer algorithms, which will be used in decentralised learning.
