NUS Computing Students Recognised at Huawei Tech4City Competition 2025

Students from the NUS School of Computing (SoC), along with their teammates, were recognised for their achievements at the Huawei Tech4City Competition Finals 2025, a national innovation challenge that calls on youths to develop technology-driven solutions for social good across Smart Healthcare, Smart Education, and Smart City themes.

Yong Zhong Rong (SoC), together with teammates Harry Wu (NUS Business, and alumnus of the NUS Enterprise programme) and Shui Hon Siew (College of Design and Engineering), clinched First Prize in the Onwards Entrepreneurship track with Remarkably. The AI-powered essay feedback platform aims to close the feedback gap for students, particularly those in underserved communities, by delivering timely, high-quality feedback while supporting teachers with tools that augment — not replace — their work.

In the Budding Youths track, Euan Tan (SoC), alongside teammates Chloe Tan (Medicine) and Kong Kei-lyn (Medicine), received Third Prize for Reflexion. The project is a smart mirror that uses lightweight AI and built-in sensors to passively monitor cognitive health during daily routines, helping to flag early signs of cognitive decline in seniors without the need for wearables or active testing.

Their achievements reflect how NUS Computing students are applying their technical training to address real-world challenges and create meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
