“Going on SEP is one of the most memorable experiences I had in NUS, I experienced the education, living culture, and spectacular views in Switzerland. This gave me a greater appreciation of people from other countries and taught me to be more open when interacting with others because everyone’s experience shapes their values and perspectives differently, which in turn give us more insight towards the world.”

University of Melbourne (Australia), AY2025/26
My semester exchange at the University of Melbourne was one of the most memorable experiences of my university journey. Beyond experiencing a different academic environment, I valued living in a new city and meeting people from diverse countries and backgrounds. Melbourne’s international community made it easy to form meaningful friendships, which became an important part of my exchange experience.
I also enjoyed exploring Australia beyond campus, from the Great Ocean Road to smaller towns at Melbourne’s outskirts, and other cities such as Sydney. Experiencing Australia’s natural environment and visiting different cities encouraged me to step outside my usual routine and appreciate new surroundings.
Academically, adapting to the University of Melbourne’s different teaching and assessment styles helped me become a more independent and flexible student. Overall, SEP gave me more than the opportunity to study overseas. It allowed me to experience different cultures, build lasting friendships, explore Australia, and grow more confident navigating unfamiliar environments.
