LBKM Future Economy Scholarship
About the Donor
LBKM (Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulud) has come a long way since its inception, evolving from a small but relentless bursary-disbursing organization into a renowned bursary institution and a pillar of the Malay and Muslim community.
LBKM continues to strive to remain a relevant beacon of light in the community without compromising on the building blocks and the virtues which LBKM founding fathers envisioned.
In 2017, the LBKM launched the LBKM Future Economy Scholarship with a gift of $45,000 to the NUS School of Computing. The scholarship was established to encourage Malay undergraduate students to pursue studies in new disciplines such as computer science, information systems and cybersecurity.
On 9 March 2021, a further gift of $300,000 from LBKM means that three top-performing Malay undergraduates will be awarded the scholarship worth S$5,000 for each academic year. These scholarship awards will be in perpetuity.
Objective
The establishment of this Scholarship is to support Singapore’s Committee on the Future Economy (CFE) recommendations and to encourage more Malay students to advance their digital capabilities.
The scholarship is open to Malay students with outstanding academic records.
Applicants must also actively participate in co-curricular activities, and exhibit strong leadership qualities.

Details on applications and award basis will be announced in due course by the administering offices in NUS.
