Application

To apply for our programme, candidates are to submit their applications via the online application portal.

Application Fee

A S$100 non-refundable application fee (per online application & before prevailing GST) is payable for our MSc DFinTech programme.

Application Deadline

The admission exercise for the MSc DFinTech programme is conducted once a year for one admission intake in August. The deadlines for submission of application forms are as follows:

Status of Application

The application outcome will be available via the online Graduate Admission System by end of April or early May.

Online Application via the Graduate Admission System

When submitting your application online, you will be asked to enter a 6-character password. Your password is important and can be used, together with your application number, to access the following online facilities related to your application:

  • Online Application Status Enquiry*
  • Online Update of Contact Details
  • Online Reply to Offer of Admission

For submission of your application via the online Graduate Admission System, you are required to prepare your supporting documents for upload via the online system. The documents to be uploaded to the online system should be in pdf format.

All documents that are not in English must be accompanied by certified true copies of the English translation documents. Omission of required information and documents may render the application void.

Checklist of Documents to be Submitted Online
Personal Statement (mandatory) Applicants are required to describe succinctly your reasons for applying to the programme, your preparation for the field of study, future career plans, and other aspects of your background and interests that may help in the evaluation of your aptitude and motivation for graduate studies. Note: It is mandatory to submit your Personal Statement when you submit your online application. Please upload your Personal Statement under “Document Upload – Select Others” in the GDA system).
Curriculum Vitae (CV) Your CV should provide a summary of your education, work experience and achievements. Note: Please upload your CV under “Documents Upload – Select Resume” in the GDA system.
Proof of Residence Singapore Citizens & Singapore Permanent Residents:
  • Identity Card (Pink/Blue NRIC)^
International Applicants:
  • Passport copy and
  • Work Pass# (Employment Pass / S Pass), Long-Term Visit Pass, Dependent’s Pass and other Passes (if applicable)^ [^Please ensure that both the Front and Back of these documents are provided.] [# Required for international applicants who wish to apply for the programme on a part-time basis]
Academic Qualifications (with English Translation)
  • Official Degree Certificate(s)

Applicants who have completed their Bachelor’s Degree:
  • Official Degree Certificate for Bachelor’s Degree
  • Official Transcript for Bachelor’s Degree
  • Official Transcript(s) for Exchange programmes (if applicable)
All academic documents are required to be certified true copy (i.e. contains University Seal and/or Registrar’s signature). Transcripts must show the grades of all courses taken. Applicants who have not received their Bachelor’s Degree Certificate are required to submit an Official Letter from their University stating their expected date of graduation or certifying their completion of Bachelor’s Degree. Applicants who have obtained higher degrees should also submit their Master’s/PhD Degree Certificate(s) and the relevant Official Transcript(s).
Test Scores
  • TOEFL or IELTS *
  • GRE (General) or GMAT

*Applicants who have graduated from universities where English is not the medium of instruction are required to submit TOEFL or IELTS score as proof of English proficiency. Applicants must submit an official copy of the test scores in your online application and electronically send the scores to the University, via Educational Testing Service (for TOEFL and GRE) or IELTS Test Report Form (for IELTS). Our institution code for GRE is 0677, Department Code 0402/ 0404, GMAT code is DRT-16-68 and TOEFL code is 9088. The validity of GRE and TOEFL scores are 5 years and 2 years respectively.

Referee’s Reports All applications will require at least two referee’s report.

Referees’ recommendations are to be submitted via the online Graduate Admission System.

Applicants are to include the referees’ email addresses in their online application, and the system will send an email to your referees. Applicants may also manually trigger a resending of email to their referees via the Graduate Admission System, if required. It is not necessary to submit hardcopies of the recommendation letters.
Other Supporting Documents
  • Scholarships, awards and prizes received, etc. (certified true copies), if applicable.
  • Copy of professional certificates, etc., if applicable.
  • A copy of bank statement / recent payslip / original sponsor’s letter.
The sponsor will have to produce a copy of his/her bank statement. Bank statements should show that candidate will have sufficient financial support on the tuition fees for at least one academic year.

Providing Documentary Evidence

Candidates are required to produce the original copies of the application documents for the School’s verification during registration formalities, if the application is successful.

If the application is successful, candidates should also submit a hardcopy of the official transcript (listing all courses taken and their grades) from each university attended, during completion of registration formalities (Registration Part 2). The official transcript must be enclosed in a sealed envelope with its flap bearing the security seal of the University and the signature of the Registrar or his representative. Original copies of supporting documents submitted by candidates will not be returned.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Completed applications must be submitted with the above mentioned supporting documents via the Graduate Admission (GDA) System by the stipulated application deadline.

  • All required documents must be uploaded at the point of submission in order to be considered for admission. The School will not upload supporting documents on behalf of applicants.
  • Applications deemed incomplete by the School (e.g. those with insufficient documents, transcripts, etc. that do not contain all semesters’ examinations results or have not satisfactorily completed their requirements for the bachelor’s degree by the stipulated deadline of submission) will not be processed.
    Applicants are required to submit a new application with full set of supporting documents should they be interested to apply for the MSc DFinTech programme again. Applications received after the closing date will not be processed.
