Singapore secures 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze at the 2026 International Cybersecurity Olympiad (ICO)

We’re proud to share that four Singapore students, trained through our National Cybersecurity Olympiad (NCO) pathway, delivered an outstanding performance at the International Cybersecurity Olympiad (ICO) 2026, held in Yasmine Hammamet, Tunisia, competing against teams from 20 nations across two intensive seven-hour rounds:

🥇 Meng Xiang (Hwa Chong Institution) – Gold
🥈 Ng Chen-Yi (Hwa Chong Institution) – Silver
🥈 Julian Soong Yuan Jie (Hwa Chong Institution) – Silver
🥉 Nikola Winata (Anglo-Chinese Junior College) – Bronze

All four students came up through NCO, Singapore’s national pathway to the ICO. NCO’s inaugural edition was launched in 2025 by Associate Professor Tan Sun Teck, and the competition is now organised annually by the Centre for Nurturing Computing Excellence (CeNCE), a centre within the School. Justin Lim served as Team Leader, working with the NCO mentoring team to prepare the students over several months.
