Application

To apply for the Master of Computing (Specialisation) programme, applicants are to submit their applications via the online application portal.

Specialisations
The following Specialisations for the MComp (Specialisation) programme will be offered for admission:

  • Artificial Intelligence; or
  • Computer Science; or
  • Information Systems; or
  • Infocomm Security

Password (for online application)
When submitting your application online, you will be asked to enter a password. Your password is important and can be used, together with your application number, to access the following online facilities related to your application:

  • Online Application Status Enquiry (please refer to “Application Status”)
  • Online Update of Contact Details
  • Online Reply to Offer of Admission

Application Fee
A S$100 non-refundable Application Fee (per online application & before prevailing GST) is payable for our MComp programme.

Deadlines
The deadlines for submission of Online Applications are as follows:

*For the August intake, applicants who submit their applications by end of January may be considered for early offers of admission.

Status of Application

The application outcome will be available via the online Graduate Admission System by end May/June (August Intake) or end November (January intake).

Submission of Application

When submitting your application via the online Graduate Admission System, you are required to prepare your supporting documents for upload via the online system.

Please ensure that the documents meet the following requirements:

√ Documents are in PDF format.

√ Documents are in English. All documents that are not in English must be accompanied by certified true copies of the English translation documents.

Only applications submitted by the stipulated application deadline will be processed.

Please ensure that all mandatory documents are uploaded before submitting your application. The School will not upload documents on behalf of applicants.

Applications deemed incomplete by the School will not be processed.

Personal Statement 

You are required to describe succinctly your reasons for applying to the programme, your preparation for the field of study, future career plans, and other aspects of your background and interests that may help in the evaluation of your aptitude and motivation for graduate studies.

Note: Please upload your Personal Statement under “Documents Upload – Select Others” in the GDA system.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Your CV should provide a summary of your education, work experience and achievements.

Proof of Residence

Singapore Citizens & Singapore Permanent Residents:

  • Identity Card (Pink/Blue NRIC)^

International Applicants:

  • Passport copy and
  • Work Pass (Employment Pass / S Pass), Long-Term Visit Pass, Dependent’s Pass and other Passes (if applicable)^

Academic Qualifications (with English Translation)

  • Official Degree Certificate(s)
  • Official Transcript(s)

Applicants who have completed their Bachelor’s Degree:

  • Official Degree Certificate for Bachelor’s Degree
  • Official Transcript for Bachelor’s Degree
  • Official Transcript(s) for Exchange programmes (if applicable)

All academic documents are required to be certified true copy (i.e. contains University Seal and/or Registrar’s signature). Transcripts must show the grades of all courses taken.

Applicants who have not received their Bachelor’s Degree Certificate are required to submit an Official Letter from their University stating their expected date of graduation or certifying their completion of Bachelor’s Degree.

Applicants who have obtained higher degrees should also submit their Master’s/PhD Degree Certificate(s) and the relevant Official Transcript(s).

  • TOEFL or IELTS*
  • GRE (General) or GMAT or GATE
  • *Applicants who have graduated from universities where English is not the main medium of instruction are required to submit TOEFL or IELTS score as proof of English proficiency.
  • Applicants must submit an official copy of the test scores in your online application and also electronically send the scores to the University.

  • The validity of GRE/GMAT and TOEFL/IELTS scores are 5 years and 2 years respectively.
  • Please refer to the Admission Requirements webpage for the Minimum Score requirements for Tests.
Referee’s Reports
All applications will require at least one referee’s report.
  • Referees’ recommendations are to be submitted via the online Graduate Admission System.
  • Applicants are to input the referees’ email addresses in their online applications, and the system will send an email to the referees with relevant instructions. Applicants may also manually trigger a resending of email to their referees via the Graduate Admission System, if required.
  • It is not necessary to submit hardcopies of the recommendation letters.
Other Supporting Documents
  • Scholarships, awards and prizes received, etc., (certified true copies) if applicable.
  • Copy of professional certificates, etc., if applicable.
  • A copy of bank statement / recent payslip / original sponsor’s letter.

The sponsor will have to produce a copy of his/her bank statement. Bank statements should show that candidate will have sufficient financial support on the tuition fees for at least one academic year.

Providing Documentary Evidence

Candidates are required to produce the original copies of the application documents for the School’s verification during registration formalities, if the application is successful.

If the application is successful, candidates should also submit a hardcopy of the official transcript (listing all courses taken and their grades) from each university attended, during completion of registration formalities (Registration Part 2). The official transcript must be enclosed in a sealed envelope with its flap bearing the security seal of the University and the signature of the Registrar or his representative. Original copies of supporting documents submitted by candidates will not be returned.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Applications deemed incomplete by the School will not be processed (e.g. those with insufficient documents, transcripts that do not contain all semesters’ examinations results or have not satisfactorily completed their requirements for the bachelor’s degree by the stipulated deadline of submission).

Applicants are required to submit a new application with a full set of supporting documents should they be interested to apply for the Master of Computing programme again. Applications received after the closing date will not be processed.
