Important: The University has not engaged any external agencies to undertake graduate student recruitment on its behalf. Candidates interested in our graduate programmes are advised to apply directly to the University and not through any agents. Candidates who apply through agents will not have any added advantage in gaining admission and the University reserves the right to reject such applications without giving reasons.

 

Introduction 

The Master of Computing programme is a comprehensive and challenging graduate programme with area specialisations. It encompasses the latest research findings, both applied and fundamental. The programme also provides advanced and in-depth knowledge of IT to prepare the students for challenges in IT career.

The programme may be taken full-time or part-time. Most level 5000 courses are conducted in the evenings.

 

Admission Criteria  

Candidates may apply for admission into the MComp Programme to specialise in one of these areas:

bullet arrow Artificial Intelligence; or
bullet arrow Computer Science; or 
bullet arrow Infocomm Security; or
bullet arrow Information Systems


The candidates should possess:

bullet arrow A good honours degree in computing; or
bullet arrow A good honours degree in a related discipline with 2 years IT industry experience; or
bullet arrow A good bachelor's degree in computing with 2 years IT industry experience; or
bullet arrow A good bachelor's or honours degree in business related discipline with 2 years IT industry experience.

Candidates with degrees in Electronic Commerce/ Engineering/ Economics/ Statistics/ Mathematics can also be considered for admission to the Information Systems specialisation.

The above admission requirements are the minimum requirements. Admission is on a competitive basis and preference will be given to students with IT related job experiences.

 

GRE / TOEFL / OTHER TESTS

International applicants* are to submit GRE/ GMAT/ TOEFL/ IELTS test scores as evidence which demonstrates their academic and language ability and readiness for graduate study. Candidates may be required to sit for other tests as prescribed by the School.

Candidates who have graduated from Indian universities may submit GATE scores instead.

Candidates should have a minimum GRE score of 320 (verbal & quantitative) and 3.5 (analytical), or a GMAT score of 650 and above. The minimum TOEFL scores for Internet Based Test (IBT) is 90; or IELTS score of 6.0. GRE and TOEFL scores will be valid for 5 years and 2 years respectively.

*International applicants who graduated from universities where English is not the main medium of communication must submit TOEFL (http://www.ets.org/) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) (http://www.ielts.org) scores.
