MSc in Digital Financial Technology - Admission Requirements

Important: The University has not engaged any external agencies to undertake graduate student recruitment on its behalf. Candidates interested in our graduate programmes are advised to apply directly to the University and not through any agents. Candidates who apply through agents will not have any added advantage in gaining admission and the University reserves the right to reject such applications without giving reasons.

Admission Criteria

MSc in Digital Financial Technology programme is suitable for candidates with passion in learning FinTech subjects. Admission to the programme is granted on a competitive basis as places in the programme are limited. Applicants should possess the following minimum requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computing; or
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Finance, Economics, Statistics or Business).

Work experiences in FinTech, AI, or Data Analytics will be advantageous, but are not required. Since a large proportion of our curriculum involves programming, non-computing students must provide sufficient evidence of python programming knowledge and/or evidence of learning advanced quantitative subjects. Exceptional students who do not meet the above requirements may still be considered. Candidates with academic qualifications other than the above may be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis.

Test Scores

Applicants* are to submit GRE/GMAT and TOEFL/IELTS test scores as evidence which demonstrates their readiness for graduate study. Candidates may be required to sit for other tests as prescribed by the School.

Candidates who have graduated from Indian universities may submit GATE scores instead.

Candidates should have a minimum GRE score of 320 (verbal & quantitative) and 3.5 (analytical), or a GMAT score of 700 and above. The minimum TOEFL scores for Internet Based Test (IBT) is 90; or IELTS score of 6.0. GRE and TOEFL scores will be valid for 5 years and 2 years respectively.

*International applicants who graduated from universities where English is not the main medium of communication must submit TOEFL or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) scores.

A GMAT/GRE score is not mandatory but a good GMAT/GRE score will strengthen the application.
