7 January 2019 – Associate Professor He Bingsheng received the Editorial Excellence and Eminence (EEE) award for his outstanding contributions to the IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing (TCC) journal.

A/P He was one of 12 recipients to receive the award on 2 January 2019. The EEE award was established this year to recognise Associate Editors who have stood out in fulfilling their editorial responsibilities. In 2018, the TCC journal is ranked third among all Computer Science and Information Systems journals around the world. It currently has 82 Associate Editors serving in the editorial board, which is headed by an Editor-in-Chief and an Associate Editor-in-Chief.

The duties of the editorial board include maintaining the quality of the journals and managing its peer review process. “When a submission is assigned to me, I do a quick review before deciding whether to approve or reject the submission. For approved submissions, I proceed to select independent and experienced reviewers to review the submission,” said A/P He. On average, an Associate Editor get 10 to 20 submissions each year.

“Serving as an Associate Editor is a mark of service to the research community,” said A/P He. “I strive to handle all assigned submissions in a fairly and timely manner. I will control the review turnover time through every means and ensure that every submission has independent reviewers from different countries.”

“I am very happy to receive this award, which encourages me to contribute even more to the research community,” said A/P He. “This award not only recognise my contributions, but the contributions of all the reviewers I have collaborated with.”
