10 students from the NUS School of Computing (SoC) are representing Singapore at the SEA Games 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. Balancing training, competitions, and academic rigour is no small feat – yet each of them has carved out space to grow in both arenas.

The 27th School of Computing Term Project Showcase (STePS) once again transformed COM3 into a vibrant hub of innovation, entrepreneurship, and peer learning. This latest edition brought together selected student projects – the culmination of months of rigorous work – to be presented, assessed, and celebrated by the community.

Yuexi developed a new language for tennis strategy analysis, mapping tennis games to chess games based on their structural similarities. Her paper, “TANS, A Chess-Inspired Notation System for System Analysis of Tennis Games”, received the Distinguished Paper Award at the 2nd International Sports Analytics Conference and Exhibition 2025 (ISACE’25) held in Shanghai. 

NUS School of Computing (SoC) has achieved a historic milestone, clinching its first-ever victory at the ICPC Regionals in Taiwan – one of the most competitive arenas in the Asia-Pacific International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).

Two students from the NUS School of Computing have put Singapore on the global entrepreneurship map. Tew Jing An, a Year 1 Computer Science student, and Chong Kai Jie, a Year 2 Computer Engineering student, are co-founders of Stick ‘Em — an education technology startup that clinched the prestigious 2025 Hult Prize and its US$1 million seed funding at the Global Finals in London.
