Professor Abhik Roychoudhury’s AutoCodeRover Technology Launched Globally as Sonar’s AI Remediation Agent at ATxSummit 2026

The SonarQube remediation agent launch at ATxSummit 2026 in Singapore

Sonar has globally launched SonarQube Remediation Agent at ATxSummit 2026 in Singapore. The product is the commercial evolution of AutoCodeRover, an AI agent for automated software bug repair developed by Professor Abhik Roychoudhury and his team at NUS Computing’s Trustworthy and Secure Software research group.

AutoCodeRover was acquired by Sonar in February 2025. Prof Roychoudhury continues as a full-time NUS Computing faculty member while serving as Sonar’s Senior Advisor.

The Remediation Agent automatically identifies and fixes code issues, then verifies each fix through Sonar’s analysis engine before proposing it to developers. The underlying Sonar Foundation Agent, built on AutoCodeRover’s technology, has achieved top-ranking results on the SWE-bench Verified leaderboard, the leading benchmark for AI agents on real-world software engineering tasks.

The product was developed in partnership with Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), which served as a strategic design partner. Sonar’s solutions are used by over seven million developers globally.
