Celebrating Our SEA Games Student-Athletes: SoC Appreciation Event

12 students from the NUS School of Computing (SoC) proudly represented Singapore at the SEA Games 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand – demonstrating exceptional dedication as they balanced national-level competition with their academic commitments at SoC, supported by faculty and peers along the way.

To honour their achievements, SoC hosted a SEA Games Student Representatives Appreciation Event, bringing together students, faculty and staff to celebrate this milestone. The session was graced by Dean Tulika Mitra and Dean of Students Ho Han Kiat, who shared words of appreciation and presented each student-athlete with a token of recognition.

The event went beyond celebration. Our student-athletes spoke candidly about what it meant to don the Singapore jersey, the discipline required to manage training alongside coursework, and the resilience that sustained them throughout the journey.

Many highlighted the critical support from SoC’s management, faculty and Student Life team – whose understanding, flexibility and encouragement made their dual pursuits possible. The students also expressed deep gratitude for the guidance and support they received from across SoC throughout their studies, with their heartfelt reflections reminding us that every achievement is a collective effort.

Their stories were a powerful reminder that sporting success is never an individual effort alone, but one supported by a caring community.

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our SoC student-athletes:
