30 March 2021 – In recognition of his work in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, Professor Alex Siow was recently inducted into the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) Hall of Fame at the SCS IT Leader Awards 2020.

The award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Singapore’s ICT and digital media industries over the years. Many of the past awardees are leaders who have worked tirelessly to bring IT to the forefront of businesses and government service.

“I am honoured to be counted amongst these pioneers,” said Prof Siow.

Prof Siow was supposed to receive the award at the SCS IT Leader Awards Gala Dinner in March 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was postponed to March 2021.

“I had to keep the results to myself for a year,” he said, “but nevertheless, I am very grateful that the Singapore Computer Society decided to give me the award as recognition of the many years of service I have rendered to the IT community in Singapore.”

“I attribute my success to the many people who have contributed their time and energy alongside me, to develop the IT profession into an important component of Singapore’s workforce,” he added.
