20 August 2019 – NUS Computing received the Top Achievement Award for having the highest number of graduands who gave at the recent Commencement Class Giving 2019 campaign. The award was presented at NUS Giving’s Annual Giving Appreciation Night held at NUSS Kent Ridge Guild House on 15 August.

This is NUS Computing’s second time receiving the award for faculties with 400 to 999 graduands. The school first received the award in 2017.

Senior Lecturer and Assistant Dean of Student Life Dr Bimlesh Wadhwa accepted the award on behalf of the school and the Class of 2019 graduates. Each year, graduands are encouraged to make a gift of $10 and above to the Commencement Class Giving campaign to help students in financial need. Since 2007, over 17,000 graduating students have made gifts to the campaign and have raised over S$550,000.

This year, the Top Achievement Award is given to six faculties and residential halls within NUS. The other winners of this year’s Top Achievement Award include the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, the School of Design and Environment, Cinnamon College (University Scholars Programme), and King Edward VII Hall.
